GSE Smart IPTV Setup Guide: Install, Add Your Login & Best Settings
GSE Smart IPTV is a long-running IPTV player that covers iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, and Android, and it is the alternative our iPhone guide points to when IPTV Smarters is not available in your region. Like every player app, it has no channels of its own — it loads the login from your IPTV subscription. This guide covers which version to install, adding your IPTV USA login, the settings worth changing, and how to fix the usual problems.

What GSE Smart IPTV is — and isn’t
GSE Smart IPTV is a media player. It does not supply, sell, or host any channels, and buying its Pro edition does not add any content — everything you watch comes from your IPTV subscription. It is made by an independent developer, listed on the App Store as droidvision (GSE Technology Ltd), and IPTV USA is not affiliated with it. We cover it because it accepts the same Xtream Codes login our plans use.
One thing to know before you search: GSE has more than one listing. You may see GSE Smart IPTV, GSE Smart IPTV Pro, GSE Smart IPTV Lite, and on Google Play a listing called GSE IPTV Player. Check that the developer is droidvision or GSE Technology Ltd before installing, and only install from your device’s official app store.
Free Lite or paid Pro?
The free Lite edition is meant for trying the app. Its App Store listing says it shows a watermark, and that you need Pro to remove the watermark and to export playlists. The Pro edition is a paid app; the iPhone listing showed a one-time price of $2.99 when we checked, with Mac and Apple TV versions sold separately. Prices differ by store and region and change over time, so read the price on your own store listing rather than trusting an article.
A sensible order is to install the free edition, add your login, and confirm your channels play before paying for anything. Note that a watermark on a free edition is a limit of the app, not a problem with your IPTV account.
When GSE is the right choice
GSE is a good fit when IPTV Smarters is unavailable in your region, when you want to cast to a Chromecast or send the picture over AirPlay from the app itself, or when you like managing playlists — its listing highlights local and remote playlists and uploads over a web interface. For most people on Apple devices, IPTV Smarters Player is still the simplest first choice, with IMPlayer as another option; on Android devices our own IPTVUSA App 2 and TiviMate are usually easier. The best IPTV apps comparison lays them all out.
Setup, step by step
About five minutes from install to your first channel.
Check your device and store. iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV: use the App Store on that device (Apple TV has its own separate listing). Android phones, tablets, and Android TV boxes: use Google Play. Fire TV: check the Amazon Appstore first; if it is not listed, it is installed manually with Downloader, which only works on Fire TV models that run Fire OS — the Fire Stick guide shows how to check.
Install the app. Search for GSE Smart IPTV and confirm the developer is droidvision (GSE Technology Ltd). Install the free edition first if you want to test before buying Pro.
Get your login details. Open your My Account page after your order or trial is approved. You need the server URL, username, and password from the Xtream Codes section.
Add your playlist. Open the app and choose to add a remote playlist, then pick the Xtream Codes API option. Enter the server URL, username, and password exactly as shown in My Account, and confirm. Menu names vary a little between platforms and versions.
Let it load. GSE imports your channels and, with an Xtream login, your guide data. Give a large lineup a minute or two before deciding the guide is empty.
Check the TV guide. Open the guide and confirm shows appear against your channels. If it is empty, use the app’s guide or playlist refresh option and check the guide source.
Tune the playback settings. Look through the player settings for buffering, reconnection, and decoding options and adjust them as described below.
Optional: upgrade to Pro. If the watermark or the export limit bothers you, upgrade to Pro from inside the app or the store listing.
The settings worth knowing
Pick a category to see what each option does and what to change.
Login type
Use Xtream Codes so channels and the guide come from one login. Use an M3U link only if you need it.
Remote or local
GSE handles playlists stored online and playlists stored on the device. Your IPTV USA login is a remote playlist.
Uploading and managing playlists
The Pro listing mentions managing playlists through a web interface and uploading over FTP or HTTP. You do not need this for a normal Xtream login.
Guide format
GSE reads XMLTV guides, including compressed ones. With an Xtream login the guide normally loads for you.
Refresh
If shows are missing or out of date, refresh the guide from the app instead of re-adding the playlist.
Wrong show times
If schedules are shifted by an hour or more, look for a time offset or time-zone option in the guide settings if your version has one.
Automatic reconnection
The app can reconnect a stream that drops. Leave it on for live sports.
Buffering options
If the player settings offer a buffer size, raise it in steps if you buffer. A larger buffer means fewer stalls but slower channel changes.
Subtitles
GSE supports embedded and external subtitles and lets you adjust how they look.
Chromecast and AirPlay
The app supports casting to Chromecast and sending video over AirPlay, which is handy for putting the picture on a TV.
Parental controls
You can lock content behind a PIN so children cannot open certain channels.
Recording
The app lists live recording, but whether it works depends on the stream and your storage. Ask support before relying on it.
Troubleshooting
Problem
What to try
Login error or playlist will not load
Compare the server URL, username, and password with My Account character by character, watch for a trailing space, and confirm your order or trial is approved. Try the Xtream Codes option rather than M3U.
A watermark appears on the picture
That is a limit of the free Lite edition, not a fault with your account. Upgrade to Pro to remove it.
I cannot export my playlist
Playlist export is listed as a Pro feature. You do not need it to watch.
Channels load but the guide is empty
Refresh the guide, wait for the first import to finish, and check the guide source. An M3U link often needs a separate guide URL.
I am not sure which GSE app to install
Pick the listing whose developer is droidvision or GSE Technology Ltd, and install only from your official app store.
I cannot find it on my Apple TV
Apple TV has its own listing, separate from iPhone and iPad. Search the tvOS App Store directly.
It is not in the Amazon Appstore
Install it manually with Downloader on a Fire TV that runs Fire OS. Models running Vega OS cannot do this.
Buffering or freezing
Raise the buffer if the app offers one, check your connection, and follow the buffering guide.
Frequently asked questions
Is GSE Smart IPTV free?
There is a free Lite edition with a watermark and limits, and a paid Pro edition. Check the price on your own store listing.
Does GSE Smart IPTV come with channels?
No. GSE is only a player. Channels come from your IPTV subscription, and buying Pro does not add any content.
Can I use GSE Smart IPTV with IPTV USA?
Yes. GSE accepts an Xtream Codes login, which is what your My Account page provides. IPTV USA is not affiliated with GSE.
Which devices does GSE Smart IPTV run on?
iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac, Android phones and tablets, Android TV boxes, and Fire TV models that run Fire OS.
Should I use Xtream Codes or M3U in GSE?
Xtream Codes, because the channel list and TV guide come from one login. M3U works but often needs a separate guide source.
Why is there a watermark on my picture?
The free edition shows one. Upgrading to Pro removes it.
How is GSE different from IPTV Smarters?
Both accept the same Xtream Codes login. GSE emphasizes casting, playlist management, and extras like recording; IPTV Smarters is usually simpler to set up on Apple devices.
