IMPlayer Setup Guide: Install, Add Your Login & Best Settings

IMPlayer is an IPTV player app that stands out for running on both Android-based devices and Apple devices, which makes it a useful option if your household mixes the two. Like every player app, it has no channels of its own — it loads the login from your IPTV subscription. This guide covers installing it on each platform, adding your IPTV USA login, the settings worth changing, and how to fix the common problems.

At a glance

Works on Android TV and Google TV, Android phones and tablets, Fire TV (installed manually), iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac
Not confirmed on Roku and Samsung or LG smart TVs — use IPTV Smarters or Smart IPTV there
Login method Xtream Codes (recommended), M3U link, or portal
Cost Free version with an optional Premium upgrade bought inside the app (separate from your IPTV subscription)
Setup time About 5 minutes

What IMPlayer is — and isn’t

IMPlayer is a media player. It does not supply, sell, or host any channels — you bring your own login, and everything you watch comes from your IPTV subscription. It is a separate product made by an independent developer, listed on the Apple App Store under HzApps (Horizon Applications LLC). IPTV USA is not affiliated with it; we cover it because it accepts the same Xtream Codes login our plans use.

One practical warning: if you search for IMPlayer, you will find many websites using the same name, some of them promoting their own IPTV offers. Install the app only from your device’s official app store listing, and never enter your IPTV USA login on a website that is not iptv-0.com.

Free vs. Premium

The app is free to install, with an optional Premium upgrade sold as an in-app purchase. Reviewers report that some features — favorites and full on-demand access in particular — sit behind Premium, so install the free version first and check what is locked on your device before paying. Pricing differs between stores and changes over time, so read it in the app instead of trusting a number in an article.

The app’s listed features include a full guide, catch-up, on-demand libraries, custom channel groups, subtitle styling, local timeshift, and multi-view on iPad. Whether catch-up and recording work also depends on what your IPTV service supports on its streams, so ask support before buying Premium for those features specifically.

IMPlayer, TiviMate, or IPTV Smarters?

The deciding factor is usually your devices. TiviMate runs only on Android-based devices, while IMPlayer covers Android and Apple, and IPTV Smarters is the most widely available option overall. If you are on Fire TV or Android TV, our own guides recommend IPTVUSA App 2 first, with TiviMate or IMPlayer as alternatives if you prefer their layouts. The best IPTV apps comparison lays them side by side.

Setup, step by step

About five minutes from install to your first channel.

  1. Check your device and software version. On Android-based devices there is no special requirement. On Apple devices, the current App Store listing asks for a recent operating system — iOS or iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, or macOS 26 on an Apple silicon Mac — so update first if the app will not install.
  2. Install IMPlayer. Android TV, Google TV, and Android phones: search for IMPlayer in Google Play. Apple devices: search for IMPlayer in the App Store and check that the developer is HzApps. Fire TV: reviewers report it is not in the Amazon Appstore, so it is installed manually with the Downloader app — the Fire Stick setup guide walks through Downloader.
  3. Get your login details. Open your My Account page after your order or trial is approved. You need the server URL, username, and password from the Xtream Codes section.
  4. Choose your login method. When IMPlayer asks how you want to add your IPTV source, pick Xtream Codes. It also accepts an M3U link and portal logins, but Xtream Codes loads the channel list and TV guide together.
  5. Enter your details. Type the server URL, username, and password exactly as shown in My Account, then confirm. Copy carefully — one stray space is the most common cause of a failed login.
  6. Let it load. The app imports your channels and guide data. Give a large lineup a minute or two before deciding the guide is empty.
  7. Tune the settings. Check the guide is populating, set how often it updates, and adjust the buffer size and hardware acceleration described below.
  8. Optional: try Premium. If a feature you want is locked, you can upgrade inside the app. Test the free version first.

The settings worth knowing

Pick a category to see what each option does and what to change.

Login type
Use Xtream Codes so channels and guide load together. Use M3U only if Xtream is not offered.
Guide source
The playlist settings include an EPG source. With an Xtream login it is filled in for you; with a plain M3U link you may need to add a guide URL yourself.
Refresh
If channels are missing or new ones do not appear, refresh the playlist from its settings rather than deleting and re-adding it.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to try
Login error or playlist will not load Compare the server URL, username, and password to My Account character by character, watch for a trailing space, and confirm your order or trial is approved. Try again with the Xtream Codes option rather than M3U.
Channels load but the guide is empty Refresh the guide from the playlist settings and check the guide source. With an M3U link, a separate guide URL may be needed.
Favorites or on-demand content is locked These are reported Premium features. Test in the free version first, then decide whether to upgrade.
The app will not install on my Apple device The listing asks for a recent operating system — iOS or iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, or macOS 26. Update your device software and try again.
I cannot find it in the Amazon Appstore It is reported to be unavailable there. Install it manually with the Downloader app using the developer’s own download.
Buffering or freezing Raise the buffer size and toggle hardware acceleration. If it continues, work through the buffering guide.
Several sites use the IMPlayer name Only install from your device’s app store listing, and never enter your IPTV USA login anywhere except the app and your My Account page.

Frequently asked questions

Is IMPlayer free?

It is free to install, with an optional Premium upgrade bought inside the app. Some features are reported to be Premium-only, so test the free version first.

Does IMPlayer come with channels?

No. IMPlayer is only a player. Channels come from your IPTV subscription.

Can I use IMPlayer with IPTV USA?

Yes. IMPlayer accepts an Xtream Codes login, which is what your My Account page provides. IPTV USA is not affiliated with IMPlayer.

Which devices does IMPlayer run on?

Android TV, Google TV, Android phones, Fire TV (installed manually), iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Mac. It is not confirmed on Roku or Samsung and LG smart TVs.

Should I use Xtream Codes or M3U in IMPlayer?

Xtream Codes, because it loads the channel list and TV guide together. M3U works but often needs a separate guide source.

How is IMPlayer different from TiviMate?

The main difference is platforms. TiviMate runs on Android-based devices only, while IMPlayer also runs on Apple devices. Both accept the same Xtream Codes login.

Is IMPlayer the same as IPTVUSA App 2?

No. IPTVUSA App 2 is our own app for Android devices; IMPlayer is a separate third-party player. Both work with the same account.
