TiviMate Setup Guide: Install, Add Your Login & Best Settings
TiviMate is one of the most popular IPTV player apps on Android-based devices, mostly because of its clean, cable-style channel guide. It is a player only — it has no channels of its own — so it works by loading the login from your IPTV subscription. This guide covers installing it, adding your IPTV USA login, the settings worth changing, and what to do when something goes wrong.

What TiviMate is — and isn’t
TiviMate is a media player. It does not provide, sell, or host any channels, and buying its Premium upgrade does not give you any content either — it only unlocks app features. Everything you watch comes from your IPTV subscription; TiviMate just displays it. That also means TiviMate is a separate product made by its own developer: IPTV USA is not affiliated with it, and we list it here because it accepts the same Xtream Codes login our plans use.
It only runs on Android-based devices. If you are on an Apple device or a Roku, TiviMate is not an option, and the best IPTV apps comparison will point you to the right alternative.
Free vs. Premium
The free version is enough to add one login and watch live TV with the guide. Premium is a paid upgrade that unlocks extras — commonly described as multiple playlists, scheduled recording, catch-up viewing, multi-view, user profiles, and settings sync between devices. Whether recording or catch-up actually works also depends on what your IPTV service supports on its streams, so ask support before buying Premium for those features specifically.
One detail catches people out on Fire TV: Premium is not bought on the Fire Stick itself. It is purchased through TiviMate’s companion app on an Android phone or tablet that has Google Play, and then you sign in with the same account on the TV device to activate it. Pricing changes over time, so check the companion app for the current cost rather than trusting a number in a blog post.
TiviMate or IPTVUSA App 2?
On Fire TV, Android TV boxes, and NVIDIA Shield, our own setup guides recommend IPTVUSA App 2, because it is built for our accounts and needs no server details typed in with a remote. TiviMate is a good alternative if you prefer its guide layout or want its Premium features. Both use the same account, so you can install both and compare — just remember that each running stream counts toward your plan’s simultaneous connections.
Setup, step by step
About five minutes from install to your first channel.
Check your device. TiviMate needs an Android-based device: Fire TV or Fire Stick, Android TV or Google TV, NVIDIA Shield, or an Android box or phone. The exception is newer Fire TV sticks that run Vega OS instead of Fire OS, which cannot install it — the Fire Stick guide shows how to check. If you are unsure, see the setup guides for your device.
Install TiviMate. Search for TiviMate in your device’s app store first (Google Play on Android TV, the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV). If it does not appear for your model, the developer also distributes the app from its own website, which you can install with the Downloader app — the Fire Stick setup guide walks through the Downloader steps.
Get your login details. Open your My Account page after your order or trial is approved. You need the server URL, username, and password from the Xtream Codes section.
Add your playlist. Open TiviMate and choose Add playlist. Pick Xtream Codes, then enter the server URL, username, and password exactly as shown in My Account and confirm. Xtream Codes is the better choice over an M3U link here, because it loads the TV guide automatically.
Let it load. TiviMate downloads your channel list and guide data. The first load can take a minute or two on a large lineup — wait for it to finish before judging the guide.
Tune the settings. Set the buffer size, decoder, and guide-update options described below, hide the channel groups you never watch, and star your favorites.
Optional: activate Premium. If you want the paid features, buy Premium through the companion app on an Android phone, then sign in with the same account on your TV device.
The settings worth knowing
Pick a category to see what each option does and what to change.
Login type
Use Xtream Codes so the guide loads automatically. Use M3U only if Xtream is not an option.
Refresh the playlist
If channels are missing or new ones do not appear, update the playlist from the playlist settings instead of re-adding it.
Multiple playlists
Adding a second login is a Premium feature — the free version holds one.
Update on app start
Turn on guide updates when the app opens so the schedule is current every time you watch.
Time offset
If show times are shifted by an hour or more, adjust the guide’s time offset to match your time zone.
Days of guide data
On low-memory devices, keeping fewer days of guide data reduces slowdowns. If playback stutters right as the guide refreshes, this is the first thing to try.
Buffer size
A larger buffer means fewer mid-stream stalls at the cost of slightly slower channel changes. Raise it if you buffer; lower it if channel surfing feels sluggish.
Video decoder
Hardware decoding is the normal choice and is easier on the device. If you see glitches or a frozen picture, try switching to software decoding.
Menu labels
Setting names vary slightly between TiviMate versions — look for the same options under Playback if a label differs from what is written here.
Hide groups
Hide categories you never watch so the guide is faster to scroll.
Favorites
Star the channels you use daily and switch to the favorites list for one-tap access.
Order
Reorder channels or groups so your regular ones sit at the top.
Troubleshooting
Problem
What to try
Playlist will not add or shows a login error
Re-check the server URL, username, and password against My Account character by character — a stray space or a mistyped letter is the usual cause. Confirm the order or trial is approved, then try again.
Channels load but the guide is empty
Update the guide from the TV guide settings and confirm you added the login as Xtream Codes. A plain M3U link often needs a separate guide URL.
Show times are wrong
Adjust the guide time offset to your time zone.
Buffering or freezing
Raise the buffer size and check the decoder setting. If it continues, work through the buffering guide.
Premium features are locked on my Fire Stick
Premium is activated through the companion app on an Android phone, then by signing in with the same account on the TV. It cannot be bought on the Fire Stick itself.
App slows down or freezes when the guide refreshes
On lower-memory devices, reduce the days of guide data kept and update the guide only on app start.
Frequently asked questions
Is TiviMate free?
There is a free version that covers one login and live TV with the guide, and an optional paid Premium upgrade for extras like multiple playlists and recording. Premium is separate from your IPTV subscription.
Does TiviMate come with channels?
No. TiviMate is only a player. Channels come from your IPTV subscription, and TiviMate Premium does not add any content.
Can I use TiviMate with IPTV USA?
Yes. TiviMate accepts an Xtream Codes login, which is what your My Account page provides. IPTV USA is not affiliated with TiviMate.
Does TiviMate work on Apple TV, iPhone, or Roku?
No. It runs on Android-based devices only. On Apple devices use IPTV Smarters or IMPlayer.
Should I use Xtream Codes or M3U in TiviMate?
Xtream Codes, because it loads the channel list and TV guide automatically. M3U works but usually needs a separate guide source.
Do I need Premium?
Not to watch live TV with the guide. Premium is for features like more than one playlist, recording, and multi-view.
Is TiviMate the same as IPTVUSA App 2?
No. IPTVUSA App 2 is our own app for Android devices; TiviMate is a separate third-party player. Both work with the same account.
