How to Set Up IPTV on iPhone and iPad

On iPhone and iPad, setup is the simplest of any device: you install a player from the App Store and sign in with your Xtream Codes details. No file downloads, no special settings. The whole thing takes about three minutes.

Why iPhone uses a different app from Android

Apple only allows apps installed through the App Store, so the file-based install used on Android and Fire TV is not an option here. That is why our own IPTVUSA App 2 does not appear on iOS, and why the recommended player is Smarters Player Lite, which is available in the App Store and accepts the same login. The trade-off is convenience: there is nothing to enable and nothing to download outside the store.

Picking the genuine app

Search the App Store for “IPTV Smarters” and you will find several apps with similar names from different developers. The one we mean is Smarters Player Lite from WHMCS SMARTERS: when we checked Apple’s listing it was free, had over 442,000 ratings, and had been updated in September 2026. Listings with far fewer ratings, a different developer, or a subscription you must buy before adding a login are not the app people mean. Our IPTV Smarters setup guide has the full checklist.

Which login details go where

Choose Login with Xtream Codes API. You will be asked for three things, all shown on your My Account page: a username, a password, and a server URL. The app may also ask you to name the profile, which can be anything you like. Copying and pasting from My Account avoids the typing mistakes that cause most failed logins — you can send the details to your iPhone or open My Account in the browser and copy from there.

Cellular data, battery, and watching on a TV

Live video uses a lot of cellular data, so use Wi-Fi when you can and watch your plan’s allowance if you stream out and about. iPhones and iPads also warm up and drain quickly during long sessions, so a charger helps for a full match. To watch on a bigger screen, Screen Mirroring from Control Center sends the picture to an Apple TV or an AirPlay-compatible TV, though a dedicated Apple TV or Fire TV gives a smoother, more reliable result.

Setup, step by step

About three minutes.

  1. Download a player app. Open the App Store and search for Smarters Player Lite. Check that the developer is WHMCS SMARTERS, then install it. Many look-alike apps use “Smarters” in the name — our IPTV Smarters guide shows how to spot the real one.
  2. Open the app. Launch the app and select Login with Xtream Codes API.
  3. Enter your login. Enter the username, password, and server URL from your My Account page, then select Add User.
  4. Let your channels load. You are all set — your channels load automatically. The first load can take a minute on a large lineup.

iPhone and iPad tips

The settings that matter when streaming on iOS.

Prefer Wi-Fi
Live video is data-hungry. Use Wi-Fi at home and keep an eye on your cellular allowance elsewhere.
Cellular permission
If the app will not play on mobile data, check Settings → Cellular and make sure the app is allowed to use it.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to try
I cannot find Smarters Player Lite App availability in the store can change. Search again by name, try IMPlayer or GSE Smart IPTV, or contact support.
Login fails Compare the username, password, and server URL with My Account character by character, and confirm your trial or order is approved. Pasting avoids typing errors.
Channels load but the guide is empty Give the first load a minute, then pull to refresh. An Xtream Codes login loads the guide automatically.
It works on Wi-Fi but not on cellular Check that the app is allowed to use cellular data in Settings → Cellular.
Buffering Move closer to your router or switch networks, then follow the buffering guide.

Frequently asked questions

Why is there no IPTVUSA App 2 for iPhone?

Apple only allows apps installed through the App Store, so the Android-style file install is not possible. Smarters Player Lite fills that role.

Do I need to pay for the app?

No. Smarters Player Lite is free, with ads and an optional Premium upgrade, which showed as $1.99 on Apple’s listing when we checked. You can add your login and watch without paying. Be wary of look-alike listings that demand payment first.

Can I use the same login on my Apple TV?

Yes, up to your plan’s simultaneous-stream limit. See the Apple TV guide.

What is the difference between Xtream Codes and M3U?

Xtream Codes loads your channels and TV guide together from a username, password, and server URL. An M3U link is a single playlist address. On iPhone, Xtream Codes is the simpler choice.

Can I watch on my TV?

Yes. Use Screen Mirroring, or install a player on the TV itself for a smoother experience.
