Apple Setup Guide
Apple TV is one of the smoothest ways to watch IPTV on a big screen. You install a player from the tvOS App Store and sign in with your Xtream Codes details. The only awkward part is typing, and there is an easy fix for that.

The Siri Remote is fine for picking things and terrible for typing a long server address. Instead, when a text box is selected, a keyboard prompt appears on a nearby iPhone or iPad that is signed in to the same Apple account — tap it and type on the phone, and the text appears on the TV. You can also open the Remote in your iPhone’s Control Center. Copying your login details from My Account on the phone and pasting them removes almost every typo.
Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K both run IPTV apps, but they differ in ways that matter. The 4K models have more processing power and support higher-quality video and HDR, while the HD model tops out at 1080p. Some models include an Ethernet port and others are Wi-Fi only, so check yours before deciding how to connect it.
The app also needs a tvOS version recent enough to run it. If the App Store says the app requires a newer version, update under Settings → System → Software Updates first. And if your Apple TV cannot install the app at all, AirPlay from an iPhone or iPad (see the iPhone guide) is a workable stopgap.
Under Settings → Video and Audio, the Match Content options let the Apple TV match the frame rate and dynamic range of what you are watching to your TV. That can reduce judder on sports and films, though it only takes effect when the app supports it, and it can cause a brief black flicker when the picture format changes. If you notice flicker, turn it off.
Apple TV models with an Ethernet port give the steadiest streams for live sports. If yours has one, use it; if not, connect to 5 GHz Wi-Fi where you can.
About five minutes, including signing in.
What to check when the picture or the stream misbehaves.
| Problem | What to try |
|---|---|
| I cannot find Smarters Player Lite | App availability can vary by region and tvOS version. Search again, try IMPlayer, or contact support. |
| Typing is painfully slow | Use your iPhone as the keyboard when a text box is selected, or the Remote in Control Center. Pasting from My Account avoids typos. |
| Login fails | Compare your details with My Account character by character and confirm your trial or order is approved. |
| The picture flickers black when a channel starts | This can be caused by Match Content. Turn frame rate or dynamic range matching off under Video and Audio. |
| Buffering | Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, restart the Apple TV, and follow the buffering guide. |
