How to Set Up IPTV on MAG and Formuler Boxes

MAG and Formuler boxes are built specifically for IPTV, and they connect differently from an app on a stick or a TV. Instead of downloading a player, you point the box at a portal or enter a login inside its built-in app. MAG and Formuler work slightly differently, so follow the section for your box.

At a glance

Works on MAG boxes and Formuler boxes
App None to install — the box has a built-in portal or the MYTVOnline app
Login Portal URL (MAG), or a portal, Xtream Codes login, or M3U link (Formuler)
MAC address Needed for portal setups — support links it to your account
Setup time About 10 minutes

MAG and Formuler are not the same

A MAG box is a portal box: it loads your channels from a portal address you enter in its system settings, and the box’s MAC address is how the service recognizes it. Formuler boxes run Android and include an IPTV app called MYTVOnline, which can add a portal, an Xtream Codes login, or an M3U link. Formuler’s own documentation lists all three, and says the box supplies no content of its own — the details come from your IPTV provider.

That means a Formuler owner has a choice. A portal setup works like a MAG box and needs your MAC ID linked to your account. An Xtream Codes login needs no MAC registration at all, which makes it the quickest route if you have your username, password, and server URL from My Account.

Finding and sending your MAC address

For any portal setup, support needs your box’s MAC address so it can be linked to your account. On the box, look under Settings → System Info (the menu name varies by model), or on the label on the underside. Formuler describes the MAC ID used for portals as starting with 00:1A. Send it to support before you set up, and use the box’s portal MAC, not the MAC of its Wi-Fi adapter.

Setup, step by step

Follow the MAG steps or the Formuler steps.

  1. Find your box’s MAC address. On your box, go to Settings → System Info (menu name varies by model) to find its MAC address, and send it to support if you have not already, so we can link it to your account.
  2. MAG: open Settings. From the home screen, go to Settings → System Settings → Servers.
  3. MAG: enter the portal URL. In the Portal 1 URL field, enter the server URL from your My Account page, then select Save/Apply.
  4. MAG: restart the box. Restart your box. It connects to the portal and loads your channel list automatically.
  5. Formuler: open MYTVOnline. Open the MYTVOnline app. Formuler’s menus differ by version: in MYTVOnline 2 go to Menu → Connections; in MYTVOnline 3 go to Menu → Content Manager → Content Sources; in MYTVOnline 4 go to Menu → Settings → App Settings → Content Sources.
  6. Formuler: add a source. Choose to add a source. For Xtream Codes, enter the server URL, username, and password from My Account — no MAC registration is needed. For a portal, enter the portal URL after support has linked your MAC ID.
  7. Formuler: open your channels. Save, then return to the home screen. Your channels load automatically; give a large lineup a minute.

MAG and Formuler tips

What to check when a box will not connect.

Use the right MAC
Send support the portal MAC shown in the box’s system or portal screen, not the Wi-Fi adapter’s address.
Portal URL exactly
Type the portal URL exactly as given. One wrong character stops it connecting.

Troubleshooting

Problem What to try
The box shows a portal error or no channels Check that support has linked your MAC address, that you sent the box’s portal MAC, and that the portal URL is typed exactly.
I do not know which MAC to send Use the MAC shown in the box’s system or portal screen or on its label, not the Wi-Fi adapter’s.
Formuler will not connect with a portal Try an Xtream Codes login instead: it needs only your server URL, username, and password from My Account.
I cannot find Content Sources in MYTVOnline The menu name depends on the version: Connections in 2, Content Manager in 3, App Settings in 4.
Buffering Use Ethernet, restart the box, and follow the buffering guide.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between MAG and Formuler?

A MAG box is portal-only. Formuler boxes run Android with the MYTVOnline app, which can use a portal, an Xtream Codes login, or an M3U link.

Why does support need my MAC address?

For portal setups the MAC address identifies your box, so it can be linked to your account.

Do I need a MAC address for Xtream Codes on a Formuler?

No. An Xtream Codes login on a Formuler needs only the server URL, username, and password.

Do these boxes include channels?

No. They supply the hardware and app; the channels come from your IPTV subscription.

Can I use the same account on my phone?

Yes, up to your plan’s simultaneous-stream limit.
