LG Smart TVs run LG’s webOS. You install a player from the LG Content Store and sign in with your Xtream Codes details, which usually takes about five minutes. As on any smart TV, check first that the app is available for your model.

LG’s app catalog varies by webOS version, model year, and region. Recent TVs generally have what you need; older webOS versions may not, and an app listed in one country may be missing in another. Open the LG Content Store and search for IPTV Smarters first. If it appears, install it and carry on.
If it is not there, a streaming device is the reliable answer. A Fire TV Stick running Fire OS, an Android TV box, or an Apple TV plugged into HDMI works the same on every TV and is a one-time cost. See the matching guide.
Many LG TVs come with the Magic Remote, which lets you point at the on-screen keyboard instead of stepping through it with arrow buttons — much faster for a long server address. LG’s phone app can also act as a remote on many models. Whichever you use, take your time with the server URL: one wrong character is the most common reason a login fails, and the TV will not tell you which character was wrong.
Once you are signed in, test it properly. Play a live sports channel and a standard channel, change channels a few times to see how quickly they switch, open the guide, and try again in the evening when your network is busiest. Smart IPTV also exists for LG TVs. It works by showing your TV’s MAC address in the app; you then upload your M3U link to Smart IPTV’s website against that address. After a free trial it needs a one-time activation fee, paid to Smart IPTV. It is a workable backup, but Smarters is simpler where it is available.
